Many thanks to all involved with the sponsored Inca Trail hike for Macmillan Cancer Relief at the end of May. I had a fantastic time, and everything went so smoothly despite us having a huge group of about 50 people. Special thanks to Ozzi and Victor - hiking with Oz is both very informative and hugely entertaining! I am hoping to set up a similar fundraising trek on behalf of a small local charity with which friends of mine are involved. I will definitely contact SAS Travel to do the organising again if we can make it happen.

As a college student studying in Peru...Machu Picchu and all the people I met along the Inca Trail was everything I never imagined. The whole experience was like a gift. I felt very fortunate to have Freddy and Omar as my guides -- they complemented one another. Freddy was always enthusiastic, outgoing, and personable. He took the time to explain special things such as flowers, birds, share stories about himself, show us the constellations, as well as adding in jokes. I was impressed with his english and knowledge! And Omar... he was very sweet, I enjoyed meeting him and our conversations. He was very caring, helpful, and made our whole group feel very comfortable. Excellent job guys!!! Not only was I taken back by the guides, I enjoyed the crew and the porters a great deal. I appreciated all of their hardwork and gained a deep respect for the crew : making us meals, setting up the tents, taking them down, etc. Everything was TOP OF THE LINE! Freddy, Omar and the crew gave me memories that I will cherish forever. Because of them I have never felt so alive, been so happy, or experienced so much culture & tradition. I recommenrd SAS Travel to anyone looking for an unforgettable time.

PS-- Omar and Freddy buenas suerte in your future endeavors! Muchas, muchas Gracias

I did the trail with my partner in May. There were just ten of us in the group, Victor was our guide and Ephraim his right hand man. From the minute we met for the initial briefing to the end of the trip itself, everybody connected with SAS was excellent. Victor was extremely professional ensuring that we all felt part of a group that did not have to prove its athletic worth. It was not a race, there was not a push to be first anywhere, we had a laugh along the way and we always knew that if any one did struggle, Victor and Ephraim were always on hand - one leading the group and the other bringing up the rear. The porters made us all feel very humble; after a gruelling day's walking with heavy loads on their backs, they met the group with a smile and a hot drink - not to mention the feasts that were prepared for us each day. In all, the experience was one I will never forget: it was so much more than Machu Picchu itself, it was the people, the history and the warm hearts that made it so memorable. Thank you so much AlisonX

We just finished the Inca trail Friday June 3rd 2005. It was an unforgettable experience. Me and my husband had a great time on the trip.

I had so many pre conceived notions about the trek, food etc but it was so different from what I had heard. The food was amazing. Getting a 3 course meal with atleast 4-5 dishes every meal is something unheard of in trekking trip. But SAS made it happen. The service was great. Our cook Juillo was a hero. Amazing food I must say.

Porters did an amazing job carrying our luggage and setting up the tents before we arrived.

We were really pampered.

Special thanks to our guide Ruben & Alex who made this trek a wonderful experience for us. They walked with me pretty much the entire hike as I was the slowest of all :). They were very patient and told me I could do it. Thanks to them I was able to do it.

I want to thank you all for making this a memorable trip for us.

Regards

Purnima & Anoobhav (San Francisco)

Dear David,

I was one of the privileged hikers on the Lares Trek led by Isaac Andrade that began in Cusco on May 17, 2005. I write to Express my heartfelt feelings of appreciation for Isaac and let you know that he was an

incredible guide. I found Isaac to be extremely knowledgeable, patient, understanding, personable, enjoyable, and professional. I could not have dreamed of a better leader for the profound journey we took together. His passionate words revealed his personal connection to the Andean countryside, which allowed him to share his unique insight into what we experienced. He also had one of the largest English vocabularies of any non-native English speaker I have known, and he continually surprised us with his ability to

convey his thoughts with very specific English. He possessed the added gift

of interacting in a very personal way with the Andeans we met because of his

ability to speak quechua. He always had a positive, uplifting and inspirational attitude that lifted everyone's spirits. He treated all the hikers and our companion porters with respect, and he had a great sense of humor.

I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to meet him. He is an invaluable asset to SAS.

Sincerely,

Jason Hartley

I could not believe how incredibly hard the team worked to give us everything we needed to enjoy our trip. Strating with Boris (not the cook yet) who took us to Tambombachay, Puca Pucara and Saqsaywaman, he was incredible, alway cheery and up for a laugh and knew an incredible amount about just about everything.

The rafting guides, especially Alan, Willie, Jean-Claude, Louis, Boris (so many Boris's!) definately stood out of the crowd, Ramero also is an excellent kayaker and you're safe in their hands, they're too good to be dragging a load of unexperienced english people along a river and stopping us from drowning! They truly are superb! Big thanks to Boris the cook and all his friends as well, the food was exceptional! I can't believe you were able to cook such incredible food in that one tent! Even the amount you cooked was phenomenal! The team and company are truly lucky to have you, otherwise everyone would starve to death! The whole team works together perfectly and i couldn't see the team change for years to come because they are so synchronised. Everything was always on time, always in its place and always ready for us!

Victor, who took us to Ollyantaytambo, Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu was an excellent guide as well, he knew everything about the area, knew where everything is and was rushing himself off his feet, he was exceptional like everyone of the guides we met, always had a sense of humour and a good character on him!

I just want to say, thankyou all so much for an incredible and unforgettable experience, it will be impossible to forget it! Thanks everyone!

Many Thanks and Best Regards,

Dear SAS Travel,

I recently participated in the 4-day Inca Trail organised by SAS Travel which departed on the 30th December and finished on 2nd January. I returned to the UK only this

weekend hence the delay in contacting you to say "thank you" to SAS Travel and the team for organising what proved to be such an exciting and enjoyable adventure.

The high level of standards and professionalism shown throughout the trek

is to be commended. The porters, cook and guides were professional, courteous and hard-working at all times and I was deeply impressed with the high quality of the facilities (tents, etc) and the food throughout. It was camping at a standard that exceeded all my previous experiences!

Most importantly though I wish to make special note of the two guides -Ruben and Omar. Again, both were highly professional but beyond that they worked so hard to ensure that we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and did everything together as group.Special note must be made of Ruben's stories along the route: these were always informative, entertaining and at times quite humorous and proved Ruben to be a very talented story teller!

I should be most grateful if you would pass on my sincere thanks to both Ruben and Omar for their hard work, caring and patience - it was truely appreciated and made participating in the trek a real pleasure.

Once again many thanks to SAS Travel and very best regards to Ruben and Omar for 2005,

Rosamund (Roz) Davis

Hello Everyone at SAS Travel!

I just wanted to thank all of your team on behalf of my three companions and myself for putting together a fabulous and memorable Christmas trip for us. The 4 day Inca Trail we went on was very professionally organised and run and special thanks to our two guides Ozzi and Julien for making it so. We all had a fantastic time and ate exceedingly well (including my girlfriend who is vegetarian!).

Many thanks

I just wanted to thank you and the entire SAS team for the wonderful time my husband and I had on our four-day trek.

To be honest, the hike was more difficult than I had anticipated. I was pretty nauseous at times and had difficulty eating – and breathing. I think that the challenges I faced made completing the trek even more rewarding than I could have imagined! Ozy and the porters were absolutely fantastic! They knew I was having a hard time and remained within earshot throughout the entire four days! They allowed me to walk at my own pace (very slow) and never pressured me to keep up with the rest of the group. Ozy encouraged me, gently and professionally, to succeed at completing the hike. The porters made sure I had a tent and mattress to rest during a tea break after having a difficult morning, and at one point they met me on the trail with a sandwich. They too were extremely professional.

If I had not completed this trek I know I would have regretted it for the rest of my life. This trip had been a dream of mine for the past five years. I couldn't have made it without SAS Travel.

Thank you for turning my dream into reality!

Sincerely,

Paula Streeter

Andrea & Michael

Hi, This is just an email to let you know that we went on the 4 day trek with Isiac and Efrain and wanted to recommend these 2 for anyone else going on an Inca Trail. Not only were they helpfull and full of information that we all wanted to hear they were thoughtful and so funny that if anyone else was booking this tour they would be missing out if they did not get these 2 guys. Also a big Thanks to SAS for the chefs you gave us ( Super Mario ) and the porters who did a great job. I thought we were supposed to loose weight when we up there not put it on but it was like 5 star camping. We have already recommended SAS to everyone who is thinking of doing the trail as there is not one fault any of us can think of and we just wanted to say Thank You, for one of the best experiences we have had since we have been travelling Andrea & Michael

Back in May this year we had a fantastic time walking the Inka Trail to Muchupicchu with SAS, the food was 5 star, and our guide Ruben second to none. SAS helped make a holiday of a life time, it not only met our expectations but exceeded them. We also took up your recommendation and did the 2 day tour of Lake Titicaca and this just built on the experience. When setting out on the Lake Titicaca tour the three of us never though we would be dancing in national costume at 3800 meters, so a very big thank you to you and your team who helped make our holiday so unforgettable. SAS Travel,

I wanted to take a moment to let you know how professional and on top of

things your organization is. I came into Peru to hike the Inca Trail

November 25-29 and it was extraordinary. My guide was Julio and he was

great. His English was PERFECT and he had a wealth of information on the

area and environment. Actually, everyone I dealt with at your office was

extrememly friendly and went above and beyond to help, including your driver

who opened the office to help me when I arrived in Cusco a

day late due to a canceled flight out of Lima.

I will be telling all my fellow travelers that you are the company for the

Inca Trail.

You have a beautiful country and I feel so lucky to have had the chance to

visit.

Thank you for a great experience and memory.

Alan and Stuart

Hi!

Just wanted to send an email to say thanks for your excellent service. We went on the 4 day Inca trail on the 6th Nov, and were really pleased with everything. We'd had lots of recommendations for your company throughout our travels in South America, which made us sign up with you even though your prices are a little higher than others. It was definitly worth it! HUGE spacious tents (plus an awning to keep those stinky boots outside), friendly porters, great (and lots of) food - and most

of all an excellent guide. Augusto really made the trip fantastic. He was always smiling and making sure everyone was OK. We got so much more information than many other groups, some people even tried to listen in on our group! He was really encouraging when we had to climb the pass - something which I'm sure we all appreciated whilst we huffed and puffed up the slope! All the small touches like Vodka in the morning to perk us up, Rum and hot tea and even a decorated birthday cake for 2 group members made the trip even more special.

Thanks so much!!!

Al and Stu

p.s The hostel in AC was lovely too - a most welcome lie-in!
