Difficulty

Even though this is only a one day trek it still requires a high level of physical fitness as you will need to cover a long distance in 6 hours and especially if you are wanting to have the earlier train to enjoy daylight views to Aguas Calientes. Therefore you need to have at least 2 fulldays of acclimatisation in Cusco before doing the trek to ensure you are acclimatised and can walk at a good pace to allow time to enjoy the site of Huchy Qosqo.

Its name is Quechua for Little Cusco It lies at an elevation of 3600 meters (11,800 feet), above the 3000-meter high town of Lamay and the Sacred Valley. The site received its name in the 20th century previously it had been known as Kakya Qawani.
