My testimonial about SAS Travel: I was extremely pleased with the SAS Travel experience that I had while traveling in Peru. I embarked on the 5D/4N Salkantay Trek with two experienced guides during the month of May. Prior to booking with SAS I scoured the web to find the best company that would facilitate my experience to MachuPicchu. For most people finding a company that is adequate for such a journey and adventure outside of your comfort zone is quite a difficult task if you are living outside of Peru. Nevertheless, I found that SAS Travel had the most professional form of correspondence when it came to answering any questions that I had, while offering a very personal touch. Moreover, the reviews and other testimonials I found in forums and word of mouth about SAS Travel were all very frank and positive. I was however a little curious to notice that SAS was a tad bit pricier than some of the other company's price quotes. I soon realized on the first day that the saying that "you get what you pay for" was quite applicable when it came to this trip. Unlike most trips that simply offer a bare bones setup, with SAS you get gourmet food prepared for you, licensed and very seasoned experienced guides that care about your safety and overall experience, top of the line equipment, kind and hard working porters and a touch of class that is offers a cut above the rest. Lastly, my experience would not have been the same if it weren't for the other participants on the trip who made this trip one of the most memorable experiences ever! I attribute SAS's excellent understanding of pairing accurately the right participants and guides to the appropriate groups based upon backgrounds that included nationalities, linguistic understanding and cultural understanding of the participants on the trip. I am very happy and grateful that I chose SAS and highly recommend SAS Travel to anyone that is considering using a travel company in Peru! Sincerely, Daniel Rosenberg USA.

Couldn't be happier with our SAS experience on the Inca Trail 4D/4N tour. The Andes and Machu Picchu do not disappoint and the quality of service provided by SAS is an excellent compliment to the experience. For four days we ate well, enjoyed the company of our group, listened to the wealth of information our guides shared, and basked in the breathtaking landscape. A cold beer and a soak in the natural hot springs of Aguas Calientes provided an excellent conclusion to journey and a week well spent. If you have the capacity to take this trip in any way, do it; You won't regret it and you will never forget it.

First I would like to say that this trip was amazing! I recently participated in the 2 day hike and was not in shape for this hike. Our guide Hilbert was wonderful. He was patient with me and really helped me make this trek. He was very knowledgable about the trail and the sites. I can not brag enough about Hilbert.
Thanks for making this hike the awesome trip that it should have been.

Hello my friends SAS travel.
We arrived from our trip to Peru, we made the inca trail to Machupicchu city for 2 days, we were a little busy the last day, we could not say: Thanks Hilbert for this wonderful experience, he made this experience a nice adventure, he is very strong he had to carry two back packs with one of the group was very sick, that was very kind, I do not image how hard is the inca trail for four days, next time we want to do this challenge with my family. Thanks...I will recommend this company to all my friends to have the same experience in the Andes...!

I want to thank the excellent service from the SAS travel team, porters are hard workers , they hiked together and well uniformed, they always were waiting in the camp sites with a smile and applauses, the great food of our chef Guido, I think this time everyone in the group gained a few pounds, and the good work of the guides Dalmiro and Hilbert. Hilbert has a big knowledge of Archeology and History, the respect and love for his culture. I will remember forever this famous Inca Trail to Machupicchu City and I learn that Mother Earth is unique and beautiful.

"Helo my friends" This is what i heard every morning from Fred and Jose Louise last September when doing the Lares & Machu Picchu tour for Action Medical Research! Although these words were heard at ridicilously early hours of the morning, from outside a tent somewhere in the Peruvian Andes, they were the most fantastic way to start the day, instantly putting a smile on my face!

These two incredible men ensured i was well, safe, happy and of course ....... awake during my trek last year, as well as 29 others! What a fantastic job they did! Kind, very knowledgable, interesting, patient, a little crazy at times and full of fun and enthusiasm!!!

Thank you for contributing to a fantastic adventure and lovely to have met you both!

Miss you! xx

It has almost been two months since returning from Peru, and I am still continuously looking back at photos, relishing in the memories of the great experiences on the trek. Our guide, Isaac, made it a fantastic experience and kept a positive energy flowing through the group during the trek. I will be forever grateful for his leadership skills as I plan my next worldly adventure!

For my 30th birthday, I decided to do something memorable. After finishing the hike to Machu Picchu, I can add many adjectives to my 30th: inspiring, challenging, beautiful, uplifting.. and I could go on.

This was seriously a life changing experience. Maybe it was the altitude, maybe it was my enormous backpack, or just the views.. however corny this sounds, I did come back a different person.

SAS was an incredible group. Or tour guide, Ruben, was hilarious. Our porters were so kind and dedicated that I wrote a speech for them on my napkin in my tent and read it to them. I had Ruben translate it for them. I had better service on the trip than I did in 5 star hotels. I miss the group already, and I every morning thus far, I wake up hoping to be out on the trail and awakening to an incredible view - and my warm tea :)

Here is my speech: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WoPEhUPezY

Having completed my first charity trek, I wanted to thank and praise the guides for their professionalism, and support during the trek. They were very knowledgeable, friendly, caring, funny and really suportive when I felt I couldn't walk any further. Particular thanks to Fred, Dalmiro, Valentin and especially Saoul and his magical flute, for making this trip unforgetable. Muchas gracias amigos. Isabelita la francesa xxx

Before doing the Inca Trail with SAS I read quite a lot about the trail and SAS and viewed a lot of pictures. It was quite helpful, but it gave me just a tiny bit of understanding of the great experience that awaits for me on the trail.
It appeared to be a fantastic mix of breathtaking views and an amazing cultural insight, physical challenge and high degree of comfort, and, most importantly, great pleasure of meeting many interesting and nice people, who I would love to stay my friends for the years to come.
I can still hardly believe it, but after just some four days I now feel a strong emotional link to this ancient place, its culture and people and the guys who did this trail with me.
Many thanks to our guide Fredd (his lectures were great!), Jose, the chief and all the others who took care of us on the trail.

We?ve done a lot of travelling over the past 5 months but the Inca Trail has been our best experience so far and it wouldn't have been possible without our fantastic guides, Fred and Edison. The chefs and porters were excellent too making it a really fun and comfortable few days despite the rain!

We did the Classic Inca Trail 5day/4nights from January 24 to January 28, 2011 and had the most exhilarating experiences! Our guides, Levorio and Eder were absolutely incredible and were always a hoot. Everyone in our group of 13 got along perfectly. We had the time of our lives and I will never forget it!
