This tour is probably the most popular way to combine these 2 tours to utilise the interesting facts about the culture and history of the Sacred Valley as an introduction and backdrop to the wonder of Machupicchu. Making the best use of your time to reduce backtracking and especially as until July there is no train track between Cusco and Ollantaytambo you need to get to Ollantaytambo to take the train to Aguas Calientes so it is not only your best option but one of your few!
Better starting days for this tour are on Sunday or Tuesday or Thursday. Best to avoid Saturdays as Sunday in Machu Pichchu is usually more packed.

In our private van or bus we will travel northwest direction for 45 minutes over the mountains and descend with beautiful views around, we will drop 1500 feet (450 m) to the valley floor -this area is called the sacred valley of the Incas located at 2,970 m with impressive lands for farming, high mountains, Incan sites, modern small villages and Vilcanota river. Before arriving to Pisac town we will see hanging farming terraces on the hills where on top was constructed the Incan Pisac town, you will have time to visit the typical market to admire artisans, painters and artists, take pictures or buy souveniers from locals. Afterward we wil drive to the top of the mountain then explore and hike the extensive Incan Pisac site with stunning views over the valley and exquisite Incan architecture. (For those who would prefer to spend more time in the market instead of visiting the ruins, advise your guide so he can organize a time and place to pick you up when they return through the market). Afterward we continue driving to Urubamba town where we will stop for a lunch (not included, your guide will inform about options). Afterward we will continue for another 40 minutes drive to reach Ollantaytambo town surrounded by mountains, here we will have another tour and discover the magnificence of the Incan constructions, huge stones beautifully carved, impressive landscape and locals in their traditional clothes. After visiting Ollantaytambo Incan site, we will take you to the Train Station to board the Train to Aguas Calientes town. This is a 2 hours ride, arriving at the Train Station the staff from Hostel Viajeros will meet you and settle you into your accommodation. You have free time to visit the town or just relax. Machu Picchu Sanctuary is open from 06:00 am (the night before your tour guide will come to your hotel to explain to you the details of your tour.) From 2022 the Park has established 3 new Circuits. (our guides will do all possible to offer you the best tour even in extreme circumstances.) A guided tour of Machupicchu Citadel takes approximately 2 - 2.5 Hrs, after the historical information, the tour leads you through all the most important areas of the sanctuary, as the miradors, the temples, the residences, plazas and terraces, time to get the best photos. Afterward, you have finished your tour, take a bus to Aguas Calientes town or you can walk down -optional it takes 1.5 Hrs. The very interesting MachuPicchu Museum and Botanical Garden are located at Puente Ruinas which are worth it to consider a visit. Lunch is not included on 2nd Day.
