SAS Travel organized our Sunrise tour of Machu Picchu, and also a classic tour of Colca Canyon from Arequipa. All went well and we had a great time. We were picked up at our hotel on time, our guides were very informative and did a great job taking care of the group. The hotel in Aguascalientes was basic but we did not mind since we spent such a short time in it. The food was good. We had plenty of time for pictures, and exploring on our own in MP. We highly recommend SAS Travel, and we thank them for a memorable experience in Peru.

This has been one of the most tough yet exhilarating adventures I have experienced. I am not a very experienced hiker but fit for my young (51 years) age.
The scenery and archaeological site visits where worth every step. It was amazing.
The physical effort was sometimes demanding but the food provided in the rest breaks was perfect ; delicious, nutritious and plentiful.
The team who supported us - Guide, Chef and assistants, and horseman, where just incredible, thoughtful and so well organised.
We had a person on our team who was challenged with Soroche/ Altitude Sickness and the Guide supported and cared for him in an experienced and considerate manner. Fortunately this trekker managed to continued safely and enjoy completing the adventure.
Thank you for organising such an incredible adventure that gave mean opportunity to discover more of beautiful Peru and more about me!
With much appreciation, Chris

Finished the 4D/3N Lares Trek last night and can barely even find words for how amazing it was. This trek has been the most exciting portion of my travels through Peru thus far as an ESL teacher, and I want to motivate anyone who may be apprehensive towards booking it to just DO IT!
I could clearly see where every dollar went and it was worth every penny.
Our guide, Christian, was incredibly knowledgeable, hilarious, and caring. Our chef, Ricardo, made the most fantastic meals I have had in Peru, and we were lucky to have them both on our trip. The porters paid attention to every detail, and went as far as rolling up our sleeping bags for us while we were haing breakfast, and setting up our tents comfortably before even arriving to our camp destinations.
Macchu Picchu of course was breathtaking, and the tour was incredibly inspiring and informational. The trek itself was challenging and fun, though TOUGH at some parts. If I can offer some advice, acclimatize for 3 days at least before beginning this trek.
Once again, book with SAS. I can confidently say that I will book my future endeavors with them and will recommend to all of my friends and family to do the same.
Thanks for an awesome trip SAS!

This has been one of the greatest experiences of my life!
Thank you SO much Robyn, the office staff and most of all Edward - the EXCELLENT guide and his associated cook and porters! (how did they do it!)
It was one of these experiences that could have gone SO wrong! The others booked on the trip were sick and so it was only me left to go- AND SAS RAN THE TRIP FOR one person!
I cant thank them enough for the experience.
On the trail Edward was so supportive and helpful. I had trouble with the altitude (which I hadnt anticipated) - without him I wouldnt be able to say "I did it!"
I learnt SO much about the Inca people and their beliefs- had so many encounters with the locals in villages and now have a mind full of marvelous pictures of great vistas and experiences. All the other reviews I have read tell of the passion of the guides for their culture and surroundings and I can only endorse this!
Thank you all SO much for such an experience - I include the staff of the Marqueses in this!
If anyone else is reading this and making up their mind to go - DO IT with SAS!

Our trip was an unforgettable experience that was only heightened by the two wonderful guides (Ruben and Michael) that lead our tour! There was not a dull moment or a time when anyone in our group felt discouraged. The authentic and meaningful stories helped teach history along the way; the constant jokes and banter made us all laugh on a regular basis; and the patience and understanding for those in our group who were a little slower. Big shout out to Mike who spent every trek helping one of our group members make it up and down every step and encouraged her every time she needed a break. He was always happy and excited regardless if it was 9pm or 4am really made the whole trip more than an experience. Thanks to our guides for a completely perfect excursion!

“This trek is ideal for those passengers who really want to be far in the middle of nowhere with only nature surrounding them as they camp in an area that is scarcely seen by tourists. Huchuy Qosqo (small Cusco) is situated above the Valley of Urubamba and offers very spectacular views over the mountain range Cordillera de Vilcanota.
This trek is also a great way for you to enjoy a shorter trek (with Inca stairs that are better than the Inca Trail). You will have one night camping in the wilderness and then the next day after 2 and a half hours you will reach to this ceremonial Inca sanctuary named as "The small Cusco", time to explore and have a guided tour and after lunch you walk for 3 hours then we start our return back to Cusco by a private vehicle.
Hotel Marqueses Cusco accomodation 4 nights for the price of 3 .... or free Up-grade from Standard to Delux room. You must quote this offer when booking your MachuPicchu SAS tour.

It is the lowest in altitude (4350 meters) of the 3 alternative treks and also the shortest in distance (17 kilometers) but still sees some great examples of Inca Stairs and other Inca ruins along the way. As there are only 2 days of trekking, you will only camp for one night and then sleep in our Hotel on the next night. This trek is also available in 1 or 2 Day versions as well (without Machu Picchu).
