Program Itinerary

Day 1: Mystical Rute : Cusilluchayoq, Temple of the Moon and X Zone

At 8. 50am meet at SAS office. We will take private transport to the Ranch near Qenko and get set up with our horses and meet the horseman who will walk with you through the extent of the trek. The landscape will offer us spectacular views of the mountains, snow-peaks, deep Andean valleys and the life of the people living here.
You will pass through areas of light forest as you continue to the towards the smaller ruins of Cusilluchayoc, which is a smaller, but still very mystical Inca site and finally we will visit x zone. You will then begin your return to the ranch by means of a different route, which will take you past the famous Inca site, Saqsayhuaman, which is the most popular of all the Cusco ruins. We will take you just to the ranch and then you can walk back down to Cusco via San Cristobal. This is a pleasant 25 minute walk providing perfect photo opportunities over the City of cusco from the church of San Cristóbal and plaza. If you prefer you can take a taxi back to your hotel but the walk is lovely if you have sturdy shoes for the steps down.

Please note

  • • This is a Cross Country ride, which has a small segment of local road.
  • • If you are interested in entering the ruins than it is recommended that you buy a tourist ticket (130 soles adults, 70 w/ ISIC which is valid for 10 and 16 sites or 70 soles for a partial ticket which will take you to these specific sites only, and is only valid for 1 day).
  • • The walk from the ranch down to Cusco is appoximately 25 minutes.

  • There are three different routes depending on the length of the trip that you prefer and if you have toursit ticket entrance to the four archaelogical sites.
  • You can find the other Horseriding options as
  • 4 hours ( Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pucapucara, Tambomachay)

  • 6 hour tour which takes a different route from Abra de Ccoroo, back to Cusco via the village of Pumamarca
