SAS Travel organized our Sunrise tour of Machu Picchu, and also a classic tour of Colca Canyon from Arequipa. All went well and we had a great time. We were picked up at our hotel on time, our guides were very informative and did a great job taking care of the group. The hotel in Aguascalientes was basic but we did not mind since we spent such a short time in it. The food was good. We had plenty of time for pictures, and exploring on our own in MP. We highly recommend SAS Travel, and we thank them for a memorable experience in Peru.

This has been one of the most tough yet exhilarating adventures I have experienced. I am not a very experienced hiker but fit for my young (51 years) age.
The scenery and archaeological site visits where worth every step. It was amazing.
The physical effort was sometimes demanding but the food provided in the rest breaks was perfect ; delicious, nutritious and plentiful.
The team who supported us - Guide, Chef and assistants, and horseman, where just incredible, thoughtful and so well organised.
We had a person on our team who was challenged with Soroche/ Altitude Sickness and the Guide supported and cared for him in an experienced and considerate manner. Fortunately this trekker managed to continued safely and enjoy completing the adventure.
Thank you for organising such an incredible adventure that gave mean opportunity to discover more of beautiful Peru and more about me!
With much appreciation, Chris

Finished the 4D/3N Lares Trek last night and can barely even find words for how amazing it was. This trek has been the most exciting portion of my travels through Peru thus far as an ESL teacher, and I want to motivate anyone who may be apprehensive towards booking it to just DO IT!
I could clearly see where every dollar went and it was worth every penny.
Our guide, Christian, was incredibly knowledgeable, hilarious, and caring. Our chef, Ricardo, made the most fantastic meals I have had in Peru, and we were lucky to have them both on our trip. The porters paid attention to every detail, and went as far as rolling up our sleeping bags for us while we were haing breakfast, and setting up our tents comfortably before even arriving to our camp destinations.
Macchu Picchu of course was breathtaking, and the tour was incredibly inspiring and informational. The trek itself was challenging and fun, though TOUGH at some parts. If I can offer some advice, acclimatize for 3 days at least before beginning this trek.
Once again, book with SAS. I can confidently say that I will book my future endeavors with them and will recommend to all of my friends and family to do the same.
Thanks for an awesome trip SAS!

This has been one of the greatest experiences of my life!
Thank you SO much Robyn, the office staff and most of all Edward - the EXCELLENT guide and his associated cook and porters! (how did they do it!)
It was one of these experiences that could have gone SO wrong! The others booked on the trip were sick and so it was only me left to go- AND SAS RAN THE TRIP FOR one person!
I cant thank them enough for the experience.
On the trail Edward was so supportive and helpful. I had trouble with the altitude (which I hadnt anticipated) - without him I wouldnt be able to say "I did it!"
I learnt SO much about the Inca people and their beliefs- had so many encounters with the locals in villages and now have a mind full of marvelous pictures of great vistas and experiences. All the other reviews I have read tell of the passion of the guides for their culture and surroundings and I can only endorse this!
Thank you all SO much for such an experience - I include the staff of the Marqueses in this!
If anyone else is reading this and making up their mind to go - DO IT with SAS!

Our trip was an unforgettable experience that was only heightened by the two wonderful guides (Ruben and Michael) that lead our tour! There was not a dull moment or a time when anyone in our group felt discouraged. The authentic and meaningful stories helped teach history along the way; the constant jokes and banter made us all laugh on a regular basis; and the patience and understanding for those in our group who were a little slower. Big shout out to Mike who spent every trek helping one of our group members make it up and down every step and encouraged her every time she needed a break. He was always happy and excited regardless if it was 9pm or 4am really made the whole trip more than an experience. Thanks to our guides for a completely perfect excursion!

Will I be able to climb Huayna Picchu (300 mts)
If you are wanting to include an ascent of Huayna Picchu in your visit to Machu Picchu, note that The trail to Huayna Picchu is safe but very vertical and is about an hour and a half round trip.….. beware that there are new regulations since July 2011 and permits have to be bought in advance. The cost to have a Machu Picchu entrance that includes the permits to climb Huayna Picchu is $70 but unfortunately at this moment the INC does not have separate Huayna Picchu permit to combine with the $100 Inca trail permit which already includes the Machu Picchu entrance. We have asked the INC to consider providing the opportunity for Inca trail trekkers to only pay for the separate Huayna Picchu permit which is really only about $10 but they have not yet provided for this so if you want to guarantee a permit to climb Huayna Picchu we must have this request in writing and confirmed at the time of your booking indicating you will pay the extra $70 for this permit. As this is a new cost and regulation we are still putting this option in the website reservation page so just indicate in comments for the moment.
There is a limit of only 400 permits for climbing Huayna Picchu and only 200 people are permitted to enter for each of the 2 sessions scheduled for 7am and 11 am. The guide will organise the tour of Machu Picchu around peoples climb of Huayna Picchu depending on how many in the group have permits. Please note your entrance to Machu Picchu and permit for Huayna Picchu are with your name and passport details so are non transferable and non refundable.
