Puca Pucara-Tambomachay-Qórao Pass-Ceramic Project-Pisac-Huambutio-Huacarpay Lake
This is a very popular trip because of all the things to see along the way. You will begin with a private van ride to the starting point, Puca Pucara, which transelates in Quechua to “The Red Gate”, and was called this because it was the entrance and security point for Cusco in the days of the Incas. Then onwards to the, also popular, Tambomachay, which is one of the more popular Cusco ruins. As you pass the ruins you will also be surrounded by the beauty of the mountain ranges around you. After reaching the Qórao Pass it is pure downhill riding towards Pisac, passing the Ceramic Project along the way. The next stretch of the trip is a particularly pleasant one as you will be riding alongside the regial Vilcanota river. Listen to the sounds of the river and appreciate the majesty of the “Apus” as you float along the route towards the pueblo, Huambutio. It is another pleasant ride from there to arrive to the “star of the show”, the beautiful lake, Huacarpay, which is surrounded by small houses and a small forest area. From there you will take the private transport back home to Cusco.
