Day 1: Arrival to Cusco

Reception in Cusco airport and Transfer to Marqueses Boutique Hotel where they will welcome you with cups of coca leaf tea a traditional drink to minimize the efects of altitude, Relax,rest and acclimatise. We advise you to get an early flight so you can just spend your first 2 hours in Cusco seriously doing nothing but trying to breathe!!
If you are feeling fine this afternoon you can go to the Cusco Folk Dances and Music at Cusco Art Center in the main Ave el Sol. which are included on your tourist ticket 6.30pm 10 min slow walk from Hotel Marqueses.

Day 2: Cusco Excursion; City Tour

At 13:45 pm A Guided Cusco City Tour, Excursion, visiting Koricancha "The Sun Temple" the golden Inca`s temple that impressed so much to the first spanish conquistadores when they arrived in 1534 ,Cusco main Cathedral with their exquisite canvas from the Cuzqueña Painting School, chapels, Virgins and Saints , Saqsayhuaman Inca Complex, where every year in June in the winter solstice in this hemisphere the young Cuzqueños perform the old and traditional Feast of the Sun "Inti Raymi" in honor to the Sun, then we visit Tambo Machay, Qenqo and Puca-Pucara.

Day 3: Sacred Valley Cusco Pisac Urubamba Ollantaytambo Aguas Calientes

At 8.20am meet at SAS Travel office or transfer from your hotel at earlier time if coordinated. In a tourist bus we travel over the mountains and then we drop 1500 feet to the valley floor of the sacred Urubamba river and the village of Pisac where we will visit a traditional market and you can buy some local souveniers. We then drive up to explore the extensive ruins of Pisac with stunning views over the valley. For those who would prefer to spend more time in the market instead of visiting the ruins, advise your guide so he can organise a time and place to pick you up when they return through the market. We continue on to Urubamba where we stop for you to have lunch. A further 30 mins drive takes us to Ollantaytambo surrounded by the sacred mountains, where we will again discover the magnificence of the Incan constructions and the beauty of the local people in their traditional dress.
You will then be escorted to the train station to board the valley train. This is a 1.5 hr journey to Aguas Calientes where the representative from Hotel Viajeros will meet you and settle you into your accommodation. You have free time to visit the hot springs if you like and then dinner and overnight in the hotel. Dinner is included for you at Hotel Viajeros.

Day 4: MACHUPICCHU- OLLANTA- CUSCO

After breakfast we take the bus at approx 05.30am and arrive at the ruins around 06.20am. Optional for those who would like to walk up earlier from 4.30am, please let us know of your interest. We recommend using the bus up to conserve your energy for your 2 hour group tour exploring Machu Picchu (2,400 m) and optional hikes to follow. Escorted by your experienced tour guide you will have the oportunity to rediscover this fascinating and unique place as Hiram Bingham did in 1911, Machupicchu, the lost city of the Incas, where the last emperors, priests and priestesses took refuge and where the empire survived for 40 years after the arrival of the Spaniards. Secret and mysterious citadel from the time of Pachacutec Inca Yupanqui (IX-Inca`s Dinasty) emperor, his presumed constructor. Then apparently its existence was even well-known only by the authorities and the priests of the Tawantinsuyo “The four lands of the empire”. Machupicchu prodigy of architecture of aesthetic recklessness and by the magestic and harmony of its forms, by the impeccable organization of its terraces, stairs, buildings, patios, passages that are set up in this nest of condors, surrounded by mountains, between the mountain range and the forest like but the extraordinary constructive feat of the pre-Hispanic man. Other recommended activities:
Climb Huayna Picchu mountain (2,700 m, 90min, steep gradient);
Walk to the Temple of the moon (3-4 Hr);
Walk to "Intipunku" the Sun`s Gate where end classic Inca Trail ( 1.5 hr );
Walk to the Inca bridge located at south from Machupicchu (1 hr );

All these walks are without a guide, are clearly signed and easy to find.
A box lunch will be provided to allow your extended stay in Machu Picchu.
Your guide will advise you of necessary details for the afternoon train return to Ollantaytambo with private transport on to Cusco, arriving 9:30 pm approx.

Day 6: Cusco - Puno , spectacular journey from the high mountains to the Altiplano with stops enroute.

Inka Express Class tourist bus to Lake Titicaca - Puno. With a magnificent buffet lunch in Sicuani and tours with English speaking guide to Andahuaylillas, Raqchi, La Raya & Pukara. Bus is fully equipped for tourism. Please have some soles for the entrace fees.

Day 7: Lake Titicaca- Floating Island tour to Uros and Amantani

8.00am Transfer from the hotel to the port and by motor boat we take you to one of the legendary Uros Islands where you can observe the lives of the Uros people who live on floating reed islands some only 20 metres in length. After a beautiful 3hr boat ride we reach Amantani island where we will break into smaller groups to stay with the local families. We will trek to the top of the mountain (4150 mtrs) to see the Temples of the Pachamama and Pachatata and enjoy the traditional customs of the island people. Food and authentic music prepared and performed by your designated family.

Day 8: Taquile Islands - return to Puno late sfternoon.

Short boat ride to the neighbouring Taquile island, where we will tour around the ruins and visit these beautiful people, world famous for their intricate and fascinating weavings. After a lunch,so fresh and totally delicious from the lake you overlook in the open air dining, we take return trip to Puno. Arrival in the afternoon and transfer back to hotel approx 5 pm.

Day 9: From Puno to Chivay to see the Condors at Colca Canyon

6am transfer to transport 4M express to Chivay depart Puno 6.30 beautiful journey through to Chivay where you can truly appreciate the Pre-Inca farming Terraces / platforms know as "andenerias". Approx 12.45pm you will join the part of group that starts from Arequipa and continue tour from here together for lunch and then to see the beautiful landscapes, local people.

Day 10: Colca Canyon Tour and on to Arequipa.

early excursion to the famous Crus de Condor to see the condors soaring on the thermal currents rising from the Canyon and visit other sites on the return to Chivay.
After lunch enjoy the journey to Arequipa ! We will pass the crater of an extinct volcano (Chucura) and see the famous volcanos panorama from 4.800 meters above sea level. After we pass through the Aguada Blanca National Park, the habitat of the beautiful South American Cameloidaes, the vicuñas, alpacas, waris and llamas we will view the snow-covered Chachani mountain.
Arrival Arequipa between 5 and 6pm and transfer to your hotel.

Day 11: Free day in the White City of Arequipa

Bound to have some washing to do!!! Leave it with the hotel while you relax and enjoy Arequipa. It's just such a lovely place to wander around so perhaps you might like to explore the colonial centre, with its churches and museums? For some hustle and bustle you could check out the local markets or, to get that perfect photo, maybe take a walk up to the Yanahuara mirador for a stunning view of the El Misti volcano?

Once you finish sending us all your details you will receive a Reservation Code (eg: 240611001). Then you just need to pay your deposit, pay for 2 or more person in your group with ONE Reservation Code, so we can guarantee all your permits, tickets for Machupicchu, train tickets and tour all together in a group.
  • How to make your deposit and confirm your spots on the tour:

We will confirm your reservation on the same day.
  • Step 3.- PAY A BOOKING-DEPOSIT ONLINE with MASTER CARD or VISA.- US$ 315.00 per person. (US$ 300.00 + 5% card charge). Payments by credit card will carry a surcharge of 5%. As soon as we receive your deposit we will procced purchasing your Permits for Inca Trail trek, tickets etc . We will send you a final confirmation of your tour with detailed information shortly.   • 1. You must pay for your tour in full on arrival to Cusco.
  • Payment of your balance in the Cusco SAS office is requested in cash. US $ is easier but if you choose to pay in soles the rate charged is generally 3.0 soles = US$1 You can withdraw US$ or soles from the many ATM machines. Generally more economic on debit cards.
  • If a final payment is not made by 12 noon the day before any tour or service such as the Inca trail, the total balance will be charged to the credit card + the 5% commission.
  • 2. Cost of tour is based on double occupancy ...single supplement cost additional for single travelers is US $20 per night so additional $80.
  • 3. The student US$20 discount for use of student cards is regulated by the site and INC itself, not SAS travel. All student ISIC cards are validated by the control of the park and only accepted if you scanned a clear copy of your valid 2010 ISIC card through with your deposit at the time of booking and it was confirmed. A Youth Travel card is not accepted by the control.
  • 4. You must carry a clear copy of your passport and valid ISIC card (if applicable) on the tour.
  • Please Note: Hotel Viajeros is not a 3 star hotel but is clean, safe and comfortable. If you are wanting alternative accomodation this can be organized. These are some upgrade options and the corresponding supplemental cost based on double occupancy.

Changes to schedules or dates can only be made if there is availability in the alternative date and when train tickets have been finalised this incurs a furhter administration charge of $15 per ticket.   • 8. CANCELLATIONS
  • Cancelation of tour upto 3 months in advance of departure loss of $100 pre passenger.
  • Cancelation of tour within 3 months and 6 weeks before departure incurs a loss of 20% of total tour cost,
  • Cancelation of tour within 6 weeks and 14 days before departure incurs a loss of 50% of total tour cost,
  • Cancelation of tour within 14 days and 5 days before departure incurs a loss of 60% of total tour cost,
  • Cancelation of tour within 5 days and 48 hours before departure incurs a loss of 70% of total tour cost,
  • Cancelation of tour within 24 hours of departure incurs a loss of 90% of total tour cost,
  • We can always provide you with a document to certify illness and present for your travel insurance
  • 9. SAS Travel will take all reasonable care in providing service to our clients to avoid accident, illness, loss of personal property and will only employ suitably qualified staff. We accept responsibility for the actions of our own employees. SAS Travel cannot however be responsible for any action or event that was unforeseeable or unavoidable. We also cannot be responsible for improper acts by clients or other third party. You are totally responsable for your own personal property and rented equipment.
  • 10. SAS Travel does not take responsibility for additional costs due to unfavorable weather conditions, natural catastrophe, strikes, accidents, illness, injury, loss of personal items, etc. It is the clients responsibility to carry insurance to cover these types of events. We reserve the right to modify or cancel the program due to any of the unforeseen conditions listed above.
  • 11. When paying the balance in Cusco, there will be a * 3% comission if you choose to use travellers cheques and a 5% comission for use of credit card.

  • Includes buffet breakfast and free shuttle transfer to and from the airport. Access to an English speaking staff person 24 hours a day.
  • Both Delux and Standard Rooms have private bathrooms with 24 hour hot water . Delux rooms have shower and bath and the rooms are very spacious with much more natural lighting and character. They are located in the front courtyard area. For those celebrating special occaisions, (maybe a Honeymoon) reserve “The Suite" … tastefully furnished spacious rooms !
  • The professional staff guarantee you a wonderful, safe and unforgetable visit to Cusco.
  • To recieve your free transfer from the airport please advise us of the full arrival details at least 3 days before arrival. Please send your flight arrival details (TIME / AIRLINE / FLIGHT #:/ DATE) to us once you have confirmed your flight. We need this information at least 3 days in advance. If you have any last minute flight changes ring (84 from Lima ) 264249 or if international use with country code (+51 84) 264249
  • Please note . Even though there are many people waiting around the airport trying to sell tours or hotels on your arrival…we do not have a Marqueses representative inside the airport except for the SAS transfer driver.
  • The SAS driver waits for you outside the arrival area with the SAS logo or Marqueses logo on a sign.
  • Checkout time is 10.00 am but you are welcome to leave luggage in storage for as long as you like!
  • Breakfast can be served from 05.30am if you indicate the night before.
  • Reconfirmation of domestic flights is a free service but please give the reception the details of your flight at least 2 days in anticipation so it can be reconfirmed and your shuttle transfer to the airport organised for you. We need your airline flight # and reservation code if you can find it. With Lan Peru flights you can do an online checkin select your seats and print out your boarding pass to allow your transfer to the airport to be organised for only 1 hour in advance. Otherwise with other airlines or without your boarding pass check in for domestic flights is required just under 2 hours before departure so we would need organise the transfer to the airport for around 2 hours before your flight time. Without the information in advance we may not be able to accommodate your transfer to the airport so please ensure you advise reception of your details early in your stay.
  • If you are feeling exceptionally ill for the altitude or any other health issue we generally contact Cusco Medical Assistance located in Av La Paz phone :224016 y 224178 and they work directly with peoples travel insurance to make things a bit easier.
  • Please note all rooms in the hotel are considered a smoke free zone. The open Colonial courtyard is the only area which is permitted for smoking to protect the art and historical items of the building.
  • Please feel free to use the book exchange in the second patio.
  • If you are unsure of anything that cannot be clarified easily through the hotel,
  • You can also ask Reception to contact Robyn to assist in English at any time.
  • FAILURE to contact the hotel at least 48 hours in advance to inform of a cancellation will result in a no show which authorizes the charge of the first nights accommodation.
