Program Itinerary

Day 1: MANU BIRDWATCHERS 5 DAY- Bus/Bus - ( Manu Cultural Zone )

CUSCO – BAMBU LODGE .- Early at 05:45 am pick up from your hotels in Cusco, first part of our excursion will take us through the majestic Andean mountains, after an 45 minutes we will find Huacarpay lake, a high Andean Lagoon that boasts heaps of flora and fauna typical of the Andean mountains a paradise to see birds. Afterwards we will arrive to Huancarani which contains the funeral towers of Ninamarca, a cemetery of the Lupaca Pre –Inca Culture, then we will reach Paucartambo, the famous traditional and folkloric town. At mid-day we will arrive at the entrance of Manu National Park and access to one of the most protected natural areas in South America. We will continue on our bus down a dirt road and on through the thick fog from which this section of the forest takes it name. Eventually we will arrive at the home of the exotic Peruvian National Bird, Gallito de las rocas, the “Cock of the Rocks”, to observe the social gathering that seems reminiscent of a large courtship. You will find that this is quite an amazing spectacle complete with an impressive array of sounds and colours that can only be found in the jungle. For our first night, we will stay in the BAMBU Lodge, where we will arrive at approx. 5:00 p.m

Day 2 BAMBU LODGE - GOLDEN VINE LODGE.- In the morning we will drive 1hours an a half (approximately) to ATALAYA PORT, on the way we have the opportunity to see the coca plantation and orchids garden. When arrive to Atalaya port we take a motor boat for about 20 minute down stream (Alto madre de dios river) and finally we arrive to our Lodge where we will have a lunch. In the afternoon we visit a litle lagoon, where you can see many types of birds, monkeys and caimans at night. ( Walks at night optional )

Day 3 GOLDEN VINE LODGE.- We have to wake up early in the morning an take the motor bote for 20 minutes approximately, then we will visit the amazing parrot clay lick, where we will see a truly breathtaking Diversity of birds, plants and animals that all live harmoniously deep within the confines of the rainforest. We will hopefully see a get a chance to see some more monkeys. After the parrots activity. We will go bat to the lodge to have breakfast. Them we will go to explore the primary forest. In the afternoon, we will visit the Machuwasy Lake, where we explore the lake in a traditional wooden boat, in this place we can see more colour full birds, and some times it is possible to see Capybaras and Monkeys. Walks at night optional

Day 4 GOLDEN VINE LODGE - BAMBOO LODGE.- In the morning, we will travel for two ours and a half down stream to visit the hot spring natural site, on the way we have the chance to see many types of birds, like herons, egrets, king fishers, vultures, etc, and also some types mammals lake a capybaras and monkeys. After enjoyed the hot spring we will go back to BAMBU LODGE.

Day 5 BAMBOO LODGE – CUSCO.- This day of our return, we will have an early morning departure from the BAMBU LODGE in the direction to CUSCO. We will pass through the beautiful Sacred Valley on the way, arriving in Cusco around 6.00pm (Approximately).

Note.- -If we didn’t see the Andean cook of the rock the first day in the afternoon, we can visit the last day in the morning -If we don’t visit the parrots clay lick due to the bad weather (raining conditions) we can visit it on day four of our trip.

CONFIRMED DEPARTURES on : Monday, Wednesday and Saturday (Year round.)

Group Price: US$ 595 per person. ( Minimum with 4 person.)

Private Group: 2-3 Person US$ 770 per person.

( Private Group is only due to the lack of participants basically or your desire ).
